Being a young mother of four in a small rural town in Nebraska, Kim Rowley has always had a knack for being frugal, but after marrying young, she had to cut corners in order to survive. Kim was (and will probably always be) a thrifty shopper by cutting coupons and shopping the clearance racks and bargain bins. After saving enough money for a computer, Kim expanded her coupon hobby to online deals.

Kim credits her Ex-husband's grandmother, Marlene Warneke (now deceased) for teaching her the couponing and refunding "ropes". Kim has saved thousands of dollars due to her thriftiness. Although money is no longer as much of an issue as it used to be, Kim still continues to coupon and refund as it is distressing for her to have to pay full price! Many view couponing as a hobby.

Although Kim has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, she learned absolutely nothing about the Internet and websites in college, let alone anything about computers. Although she did learn the the basic business skills of accounting, marketing, finance, etc.

Kim was amazed by all the websites with free offers, discount codes and contests offering free prizes. In between surfing for deals, Kim also dabbled into learning how to make websites by searching "HTML 101" in Yahoo. She initially made simple sites: one for family pictures, one about her preemie twins, and one for all the good deals she would find. She entitled it "My Shopping Bookmarks" and shared it with family and friends for them to "bookmark" as a favorite website in their browser. You can now bookmark Shopping Bookmarks anywhere!

Kim also started sending out email alerts to family and friends about the good deals she would find, who in turn spread the news about her website to their family and friends. ShoppingBookmarks.com was born in 1998 and has grown to include thousands of bargain shoppers from around the world. And continues to grow everyday!

Kim currently maintains and authors several niche blogs and is a past consultant / contributor for Proctor & Gamble's Brandsaver Division.
